Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DTS LOGISTICS HAS taken over the contract for Woolworths' Irish distribution following the failure of Road & Sea Express which previously handled it.

The Cheshire-based haulier ceased trading last month following the issue of a winding up order from a major creditor (CM 28 April).

DTS director Mike Daly reports that the deal is worth about Lim: "It's not a case of us being vultures; we already carry out work for Woolworths in the UK so we stepped in to help them out Wool worths will have to re-evaluate the contract in the long term as it had a three-year deal with Road & Sea."

Northern Irish haulier Montgomery Transport has already taken over Road & Sea's Chalfont St Giles depot.

There will be a hearing at Manchester District Registry Court on 23 May to decide if Road & Sea Express should be liquidated. Until recently it ran two depots for pallet network Pall-Ex, handling deliveries into the Irish Republic. jennifer.ball@rbi.co.uk
