Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• United Road Transport Union members at two of Tibbett & Britten's Transcare's depots are to decide how hard to push for an improved wage offer. This follows last week's meeting between the union and Transcare management organised by the conciliation service ACAS.

URTU officials are visiting Transcare's Durham and Rochdale depots to ask the 280 warehousing and driving staff to vote on whether to maintain their opposition to the offer.

Transcare had offered a 2.1% increase with a lump sum of up to £250. The union says the offer has been "re-jigged". But the company, which specialises in work for Marks &Spencer, says there is no extra money.

URTU officials will tell members of a company warning that moves towards a ballot for industrial action could "seriously jeopardise" the future viability of the company—particularly at the two URTU sites.

If the offer is rejected again URTU will recommend the ballot from asks members if they want to take industrial action "up to and including strike action".
