Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DOUGLAS KANE has introduced an advanced range of Klann shock-absorber spring compressors, including the KL0014 Universal Spring Compressor, for most McPherson Struts with a spring capacity of 80-240mm (3.1x9.4 in) diameter.

Manufactured to the highest standards with many built-in safety features, the KL-0014 has a safety rating of over three times the normal spring compression giving the highest possible degree of safety for the operator. It can compress a brand new replacement spring to assembly size without warping.

The unit is designed for trouble-free service, and has a two-year warranty. Another major advantage is speed of operation — using the KL-0014 can save up to two hours' work time when exchanging only one McPherson strut cartridge or coil spring.

High-pressure washing

THE HOTSHOT high-pressure washer from Debiquip Derby is offered with a variable pressure lance attachment enabling the operator to vary water output pressure to the needs of the job by means of a twist grip control fitted on the lance.

In addition, by using the lance control to reduce the output to 400psi, the operator is able to inject detergent automatically into the system to apply at low pressure over articles being cleaned, without having to return to the machine.

The Hotshot range offers units delivering 1,000/1,350 or 2,100psi, giving hot/water or saturated steam at 135°C and is available in a variety of voltages with a full range of chemicals and accessories to suit customers' individual cleaning requirements.

BARLOW HANDLING are marketing two British-built high pressure water washers; the C1500 cold wash unit and the H1500 hot and and cold model. Both have simple to operate variable detergent and pressure controls up to 1500psi with each washer powered from an ordinary 13 amp electrical supply.

A full range of chemicals and detergents is offered by Barlow Handling for a variety of pressure cleaning applications. The Barlow washers will be sold and serviced from Barlow's six Southern Division branches. Price for the C1500 is £565 (vat) and £1,395 (ex vat) for the H1500.

Barlow Handling Ltd, Maidenhead Airfield Estate, Maidenhead Berkshire, SL6 30N FLEXIBLE hydraulic hose claimed to be 35 per cent lighter than conventional hose is offered by Wath Rubber of Rotherham.

The strong Compact range, exceeding SAE standards, can be supplied in a diameter range from 6mm (1/4 in) to 25mm (1 in) and a variety of pressures up to 23,000 psi. With a significantly smaller bending radius than standard hydraulic hose, shorter installation lengths can be used providing cost and weight saving benefits.

Easy to work with and store, the Compact range of hydraulic hose has a wide variety of applications in the commercial vehicle industries.

Wheel chocks for safety

R.E. TYRE & RUBBER of Alton, Hampshire, has produced a range of wheel chocks intended for vehicles carrying hazardous cargoes. The wheel chocks provide added security for vehicles parked on inclines or being transported in roll-on/rolloff ferry ships.

Called Richmark Gripchocks, the tough rubber mouldings, give good adhesion and grip on all types of road surfaces, and are available in an oil-resistant compound if required. R.E. Tyre & Rubber claims the chocks will not become trapped under the tyres of a vehicle being loaded, a frequent problem with shaped chocks.

Each Gripchock is made up from a series of interlocking triangular segments assembled on a central non-corrosive tube and held firmly together by swaging the tube ends over stainless locking rings after assembly.

Three standard models are, available, the COM 5/12 with a width of 285mm (111/4in), the COM 5/9 with a 254mm (10in) overall width, and the MIL 6 with 9 305mm (12in) overall width.

The Gripchocks are made up of segments which can be coloured individually allowing ready identification, thus reducing the risk of theft.

The intermediate Gripchocks segments have weight-saving hollow areas around their central bosses. The COM 5/9 weighs 8kg; the larger COM 5/12kg and the MIL 6, 9kg.

A weather-proof handling rope is supplied as standard which can be looped or open ended.

True grit from SATA

THE NEW SATA SGE gritblasting kit has received full approval from VAG, enabling it to be used by its authorised dealer network.

It has a separate portable stand and container for the abrasive medium and removes rust, lacquer, dirt and paint. As the container is not part of the gun, problems arising from weight and refilling are eliminated.
