Keywords : Brownlie, Haulage, Drymen

SCOTTISH haulier Stewart Cameron (Drymen} Ltd and its sister companies in the North of England, F. L. Shuter of Widness and W. J. Molyneux of Hesketh Bank near Southport, have gone into receivership and ceased trading.

Eighty lorries and more than 100 trailers, together with the three depots, are being sold by receiver Bill Brownlie of Ernst and Whinney, Glasgow.

Mr Brownlie said that the companies are insolvent, but the full position will not be known until the assets have been sold. Potential buyers have expressed an interest.

The companies were engaged in general haulage. They were unable to gain sufficient backloads and the cash flow went haywire, Mr Brownlie said.
