READERS of Cross Channel in March will recall the dilemma posed to many drivers who received the Fr2,000 (£168) government hand-out. We have now received clarification from Paris that the money was paid on the understanding that the money should only be retained by the employer if he has paid in full all wages and expenses due to the driver concerned.
