THE DEPARTMENT of Transport warns drivers about temporary closures of the southbound exit and northbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 9 (Friars Wash) on the M1 in Hertfordshire which connects it to the A5183 (the old A51.

The closures will take place this weekend, May 12/13, and will last for about three hours, spread over both days, so the effects will be minimal.

The closures are necessary to enable alterations to road markings to be carried out on the slip roads.

Signs warning drivers of the closures and alternative routes to be followed will be clearly displayed. in the interests of road safety motorists are asked to drive with extra care and to watch out for the signs.
