CUTS TO City of Oxford's bus services will not be opposed by the Oxfordshire County Council.
National Bus, which submitted the proposals to the Traffic Commissioners, wishes to reduce the network to get onto a financially viable footing. The Council will still consider using subsidies to meet specific local demands.
The county council says that it has not opposed the cuts as it has tried to get views from district and parish councils and bus groups about the revised network.
As soon as the bus company proposals were known the council asked for views from interested parties with "I for financial assistance. A only 1 in 8 of the parties I answered.
On receiving the "bid" 1 a council or bus group council first propose to as1 bus company if they provide a service and at cost.
If the cost proves too the council propose to loc other methods including u school buses, mini-bu private-hire cars or car sha to link with a main bus work.
The same principle will apply to urban areas w will also be affected by changes.
