Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An unusual pair of demountable bodies have helped Dunlop to achieve more efficiency from a 162in. wheelbase Commer. The company's Exeter depot, where the Commer is based, has a requirement for a vehicle to carry massive earthmover tyres weighing up to 30cwt and measuring up to 8ft diameter. Some form of on-vehicle lifting device is required for these large tyres and therefore a platform body is necessary in order that the loader can be operated properly. To fulfill these requirements the vehicle is equipped with a Model 173 Hiab Speed Loader and a 16ft-long platform body.

However, tyres of these sizes are not extensively used and, in fact, the vehicle is required in its earthmover role for an average of only two or three days a week. The platform body is unsuitable for the transporting of car tyres in bulk so a 16ft 5-ton boxvan body can be fitted to enable the vehicle to operate profitably for the rest of the working week. The Hiab crane fits neatly between the box body and the cab and does not impinge upon the load space. The demountable system is a Pengco Load-o-Matic installation.

Mr F. Charlton, Dunlop's administration manager, planning and distribution, said: "The vehicle has proved so successful in Exeter that we are likely to introduce similar vehicles at other depots".
