Although there is a bus service between the park and the front, many people are said to be boycotting the resort, because of the long walk. The Yorkshire Area committee of the Passenger Vehicle Operators' Association is asking the Yorkshire Licensing Authority to review the position.
Last season, about 2,000 fewer coaches went to Scarborough than in 1948. Court. H. Starry, of Scarborough Watch Committee, has suggested that coaches set down passengers on the front and then go to the park, returning at night to pick them up.
