One of the latest deliveries of Bru.sh•bodied tour-height double.. deck buses—to Hants and Dorset Motor Services, Ltd. The body is mounted upon a Leyland chassis and the vehicle is intended for service in the Southampton and Bournemouth areas.

LOW-HEIGHT double-deck buses have recently been supplied by the Brush Electrical Engineering Co., Ltd., Falcon Works, Loughborough, to several prominent operators, including the South Wales Transport Co., Ltd., the Potteries Electric Traction Co., Ltd., the Devon General Omnibus and Touring Co., Ltd., and the Western Welsh Omnibus Co., Ltd. On this page we illustrate the latest type of lowheight vehicle supplied to Hants and Dorset Motor Services, Ltd., the Brush 52-seater body being mounted upon a Leyland chassis.

Although double-deckers of this special class are designed with a view to their being employed on routes where low railway bridges have to be encountered, they are also useful for country work on roads lined with overhanging trees. .

The. vehicle illustrated has an enclosed staircase, whilst the lower-saloon roof is of special construction. The

seats in the upper saloon are arranged transversely, and the gangway is on the off side. Accommodation is equally divided between the lower and upper saloons, there being seats for 26 passengers in each compartment. Ample legroom is provided between the steeltube seats.

Special attention has been paid to ventilation, six of the main windows on each side of the upper saloon and four on each side of the lower deck being of the Widney-Stuart half-drop type. These are supplemented by a hingedframe ventilator, louvres and two Ashanco devices.

We understand that the new buses. for the Haut* and Dorset concern will be operated in the Southampton and Bournemouth areas.
