The Formby Urban District Council has granted a licence for two taxicabs to Messrs. J. Rimmer and Sons, cab proprietors, of Formby.

Australian Developments.

A new make of taxicab has appeared an the Sydney streets, from the Diatto works in Italy, The eliessis, which

are of 12 are provided with veryfine limousine bodies, and are painted dark green, with a panelling alternated with stripes of a lighter shade. The coaili-work of these cars is by far and away the best that has yet appeared for taxicab work "down under," and is much appreciated by the Sydney public. Whilst these new cabs are appearing, one or two more of other types are being added, notably some Fords. Sydney, so far, has sonic 25 taxis, but this number will probably be largely augmented on the arrival of those for the Australasian Motor Cab Co.

A Small Liquidation.

At an extraordinary general meeting of the Eccleston Motor Cab Co., Ltd., held at 4, Eccleston Place, Belgravia, S.W., a resolution was passed to the effect that the company be wound up. Mr. F. C. Potter, F.C.A., of 28, Victoria Street, S.W., was appointed liquidator.

London's 5,000 Taxicabs.

Readers of this page will be interested to know that the Metropolitan police are about to register the 5,000th taxicab. There were 4,941 licences for motorcabs at the 30th ult., compared with 3,203 at the 30th April, 1909. Earlier totals were : 31st December. 1908, 2,805; 31st December, 1907, 723; 31st December, 1906, 96; 31st December, 1905, 19. It is estimated that, when existing hire-purchase contracts are completed, there will be something like 500 driverowners in the Metropolis.
