KOWLOON Motor Bus Company has placed its first ever fully air-conditioned double' deck coach in service in Hong Kong.
The Alexander-bodied coach, on a Dennis Jubilant chassis, is now being operated on KMB route 206 between Tsimshatsui and Laichikok.
The performance from the air-conditioning plant, which is powered by a separate diesel engine, in overcoming the effects of opening and closing doors and balancing the temperature between decks is being closely monitored.
A second similar bus — on a Leyland Victory 2 chassis — is expected to arrive in Hong Kong shortly.
