Classic Trucks

• The first part of Channel 4's six-part series "Classic Truck" was shown on Tuesday 10 January at 20:00hrs. Next week's show (17 January at 2000hrs) tells the history of British Trucks. Later programmes include "Ticket to Ride" —a look at bus travel and "Monsters"— the heavy haulage units of the `50s.

Logistics workshops

• The Institute of Logistics is running a series of twohour workshops tailored for operations managers, at the International Handling and Storage Exhibition. Subjects for discussion include bar coding, the financing of forklift trucks, warehousing and racking. The seminars will take place in the Griffin Suite at the NEC, Birmingham.

Used trucks

• Transfleet is holding a two-day auction to dispose of used vehicles from its rental and contract hire fleet. The company says it will be offering 500 vehicles from

7.5 to 38 tonnes. Some of the rigids and artics will be offered with a 12-month annual test certificate and with a Freight Transport Association inspection and warranty. The sale takes place at National Car Auction site in Mansfield on 20 and 21 January, with viewing from 06:00Iu-s on 20 January
