• Retford and district, the low-cost subsidiary of Chesterfield Transport, has moved away from the town following the purchase of new premises at Bawtry. Routes centred on Retford will not be affected.
• Clwyd County Council has dropped its concessionary bus fares scheme, which allowed the old and handicapped to travel half price, because its six districts could not agree on the conditions of the scheme.
• London County North East is set to take over its second independent bus operator, Sampsons of Hoddesdon, following its recent purchase of Stevenagebased Jubilee Coaches. Sampsons' depot near Hertford and 20 vehicles will be taken over as part of the deal.
