The anti-lorry lobby has certainly got its message across to "Armitage". Everything except the hot air balloon has been suggested as an acceptable alternative, and it was apt last week that FTA should try to set the record straight.

FTA president Malcolm Banks said the solutions of the environmentalists weren't real solutions at all, and pointed out how much it would cost the community.

But will it make any difference? Perhaps the extremism of the anti-lorry brigade should be matched by similar behaviour on the industry's part.
