Engines, Ltd., have i the Powertruc Co., Ltd., of Road, Burgess Hill, Sussex. the announcement last week, Mr. lakey, chairman of the new cornid: " Powertrucs will fill a worldlostrial demand for mobile power in building, civil engineering, ire, shipbuilding, aircraft servic jog, fire fighting and electrical appliances."
The new board of the wholly owned subsidiary, which will retain its name, is: chairman, Mr. F. T. Blakey; technical director, Mr. W. H. Lindsey; director and general manager, Mr. W. C. E. Orr; commercial director, Mr. A. Cadby; sales director, Mr. R. A. Clarke; and secretary, Mr. D. E. Haynes.
The Powertruc design makes use of a single engine to both propel the vehicle and drive various types of equipment. Normal versions of the Powertruc are based on a Thames 15-cwt. chassis-cab from which the standard engine has been removed, power being provided by a 4D diesel engine mounted behind the cab.
