Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

VOR some years past the motor horse' box has been steadily gaining favour, so that to-day there is hardly a stable in the country that does not employ this form of transport for its thoroughbreds.

A new design of horsebox embodying attractive features has just been completed by King Hall, Ltd., 50a, Manchester Street, London, W.1, to the order of Lord Stalbriclge. So successful has this box proved in use that the company has decided to place it upon the market. The basisof this particular vehicle is a Dodge Brothers Dependable 2-ton chassis with an extended wheelbase and forward control.

The body, made -under patents, is notable for the fact that the two horses are carried between the axles and facing forwards, with the grooms' seats at their heads. In practice, it is found by this company that the horses travel more quietly and arrive fresher than when carried facing to the rear.

There are entrances on each side and the ramps fold up to form the " doors." It is sometimes possible to lead the horses in from only one side, and access to the compartment remote from the entrance is then obtained by swinging the centre bale to one side, it being hinged along its rearmost edge.

At the back of the body there is a compartment capable of seating three or four men, storing the water tank, mangers, harness and spare wheel.

A point which has received much attention is the proper ventilation of the two horse compartments. Along the top edge of the windscreen there is a slit which connects with a metal funnel, through a filter gauze. This collects the air and forces it into two pipes, which run along below the centre of the roof, one each side of the partition. The cool, fresh air filters out through a series of small holes, and the supply to each pipe can be controlled by valves. Warm air is extracted by roof ventilators fitted to the outer edges of the roof.

This new horsebox is known as the "Super De Luxe," and the price, complete with chromium fixtures, one ramp and mounted (.41 the special Dodge Brothers Dependable chassis, is £715. An extra 230 is charged for the second ramp. The body can also be supplied on other makes of chassis.
