Not many, that's for sure. And though it may have been OK to sleep on a chunk of foam a few years ago, were sure any Ion gdistance driver would agree that a high quality mattress combined with some sort of extra support, as seen in the MAN and Mercedes, is definitely the way ahead.

Separating the good from the bad is not an easy task. All have their merits and it has to be remembered that this is as good as it gets in sleeper-cab technology. But if we're going logo for one it has to be the MAN. It may not be the best in many areas but its innovative flat dash design, quality fittings and clever use of space give it the edge. Following closely behind are the Mercedes and the Daf. Truck of the Year the Mere may be, but it lacks that bit of flair that would give it the edge — thir stylish Braun electric shaver rather than quality hotel, The Daf offers plenty of space, a well thought-out dash and instrumentation, and an overall feel of quality.., simplicity at its best.

The rest are hard to separate and all havi their strong points. The Volvo, as good as it looks, feels like, well, a Volvo so you have tr ask yourself, would you spend the night in one? The Scania is very 'every-cab' —competent in all areas but excelling at nothing.

The kieco is spacious and modern but lacks quality and the grey odour scheme is just plain tired. What were they thinking of? And then there's the Renault. When the Magnum came out it must have really beer the business— it's quirky (the table and chairs represent pure off-the-wall thinking) and its has some nice touches such as the bendy reading lamps. But among the current crop it looks its age.
