Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A driver had a lucky escape last week when his truck hit a five-foot-deep hole in the road and then smashed into the side of a house.

The truck, which was carrying fruit and vegetables, was heading along Featherstall Road in Rochdale when its front nearside wheel went Into a five-foot trench, dug by Transco.

It spun and crashed through pedestrian barriers and a low wall before hitting the house. No residents were hurt and the driver escaped with a minor injury to his knee.

Sergeant Jack Atherton of Rochdale Traffic Unit says it seems that someone had thrown the warning signs into the hole, so the driver didn't see it until it was too late.

He added: "I am sure some people may think it is funny to move signs and cones, but their actions could have serious, and possibly fatal consequences." • A fire at a Liverpool used-truck dealer has caused about £200,000 of damage to vehicles and buildings.

The company's office was broken into and a large amount of computer and electrical equipment was stolen. A fire followed at the site, in which four trucks and the company's offices were destroyed.

Cheshire police are not yet able to say if the fire was linked to the break-in because the fire service was unable to hold an immedial investigation into the blaze due to strike actiol Company owner Mike Smith says: "Th police have had a look at the stills shots ( three people on CCTV but don't think they w be able to identify them from the pictures. have put up temporary offices and are tryin to operate as normally as possible.
