• A transport manager who passed his CPC a decade ago is being forced to re-take the exam because of changes in the rules.

Barry Mills, fleet manager of Slough Borough Council, wants to add the public service vehicles (PSV) element to his CPC. But he has been told that he must re-take the core module as well because of changes to the exam structure. He says: "I'm going to fight it on principle. I passed first time when I took it and I've been in the industry for 20 years." The DOT says it sympathises but the Royal Society of Arts which administers the exam on the DOT's behalf has ruled he must re-take the module.
