Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FOLLOWING a recent

experience July/August, I felt a word of warning to other hauliers was needed.

I had an empty five-ton capacity vehicle in the Derby area and contacted an advertiser in Headlight fora return load.

The traffic clerk said they could load our vehicle for the Worcester area but could not give a rate because all the rates were down on computer from their head office. He assured me the rate would be good, and against my better judgement I accepted the job.

The delivery was not to Worcester but to Hereford, 30 miles away and 30 miles back, total 60 miles, rate £23.50 less 10 per cent, not a joke but the sordid truth, in spite of bill, statements, phone calls and empty promises this incredible rate is still not settled. Could someone please offer a word of advice?
