Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I notice on page 28 of the issue of Commercial Motor November 21 a statement by Johnny Johnson that the New York double-deck buses are based on Manchester-type Atlantean double-deckers, and then a photograph of one of Greater Manchester PTE Standard double-deck buses.

The fact is that the New York buses are based on the old Mancunian design with the rather square appearance and very large windows. We attempted to persuade the Americans to accept our new design, but without any success.

H. TAYLOR, Chief Development Engineer, Greater Manchester Transport.
