• Approval of a proposed takeover of A. and P. McConnachie Ltd. bus operators. by West Coast Motors Ltd. is expected soon from the Scottish Traffic Commissioners. Until then McConnachie will continue to operate its various services. Mr. W. Craig. managing director of West Coast Motors, said that when the two fleets merge there will be a slight reduction in frequency of services and a revision of fares.
Liverpool fares up 3d • Merseyside PTA decided at a meeting on Tuesday to increase the fares on Liverpool Corporation Buses by 3d.—subject to the approval of the Traffic Commissioners.
Unhappy New Year for Londoners
• London busmen on Tuesday voted for a token one-day strike on New Year's Day, to coincide with the vesting date for the take-over of London Transport by the GLC.
