• Newcastle Cold Stores plans to operate a collection and delivery service for its customers' frozen goods, Mr. John Hanlon, the Northern LA, was told at a public inquiry in Newcastle last Friday.
Mr. Herbert Coombs, the manager, said the firm wanted to use a lorry with an insulated container for transporting meat, bacon. butter and eggs and other foodstuffs to and from the cold stores in Hume Street, Newcastle.
Mr. T. H. Campbell Wardlaw, representing the firm, said Mr. Kenneth William Bainbridge, owner and driver of a lorry, had applied to transfer his A licence to the Newcastle Cold Stores.
Mr. Hanlon approved the transfer.
