Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A LOAD-CARRYING full-track I-1 tractor has been introduced by the Atkinson-Hacker Tractor Co., Ltd., Clitheroe, Lancs. Designated the Motormule and manufactured in three types to suit a variety of conditions, it is claimed to be the only load-carrying tracklayer in civilian use in the world. Because the addition of the payload stabilizes the tractor and increases the adhesion on doubtful surfaces, it has been possible to reduce weight and size.

The type M6OB has been introduced for use on remote logging sites. The Universal M80A and Transport M8OB models vary only in size.

Several types and widths of track can he fitted, including the rubber Atkitrak. Extra equipment includes normal road wheels and steering gear, converting the machine to a highly mobile road vehicle. For loading or dragline 'work, a hydraulically operated turntable supporting a swinging boom can be used on the Motorrnule in conjunction with the winch mounted at the front of the vehicle.

An additional winch can he mounted on the rear platform for land clearing and similar heavy haulage.

Power is supplied by either a Perkins P6 oil engine or a Steyr four-cylindered model WD 413. The larger Transport mule has an engine producing an additional 10 b.h:p. The customer is offered the choice of four gearboxes, and in the case of the Steyr-engined Forest and Universal models, alternative steering equipment for the tracks.

The Forest mule weighs 8,050 lb. bare and can deal with a payload of 14,300 lb:, the Universal weighs 8,930 .lb., for a payload of 16,500 lb., and the Transport 9,440 lb. for 16,500 lb.
