First-published Particulars.

We are now in a position to reproduce detail photographs of the latest design of Autoporter made by Messrs. R. S. Currie and Co., of Salusbury Road, West Kilburn. We were enabled to give the first description of the experimental model of this type by these makers in our issue dated 3rd October last. It may be recalled that the principal features of the chassis are as follows : The new hind-wheel frame, which acts as a radius-rod and gives easy suspension, whilst at the same time it permits the quick removal of the rear wheel. It is pivoted in the centre to the main members just under the engine, and is supported in the centre of the frame by a spiral plate spring in compression, and a lighter coil spring in tension. The engine is of 7 h.p., and is water-cooled

by the thermo-syphon system. Two radiators are fitted, and the vaned flywheels also assist the cooling. A multiple-disc type clutch, working in oil, has been adopted; this is actuated by a side lever. An epicyclic two-speed gear is fitted, and chain transmission. drivingon to a sprocket. fitted on the back axle, is now used. The ignition is by means of a chaindriven Simms magneto, while a B. and B. carburetter is employed. Steering is by wheel. The driver is now located at the rear of the machine, a favourite position where much traffic driving must be done. We understand that these makers are now experimenting with a new-type paraffin carburetter, which they expect shortly to place upon the market and to use on all their models.
