TNT to increase UK workforce by 20%
TNT POST UK wants permission to base 25 vehicles and 20 trailers at a new operating centre at the Lockwood Court Industrial Estate in Leeds.
The firm says it has plans to increase its workforce across the UK this year by 20"/o to more than 1,000 employees.
It is looking to recruit more client managers, as well as administrative and operational staff.
TNT Post is due to open a new hub in Northern Ireland this autumn, having conducted trials there during the last six months.
The company is also looking to expand its depot in Iver. Buckinghamshire, by 40,000ft2 later this year.
TNT Post which has picked up large customers such as BT. Centriea and Npower since it entered the UK market six years ago also says it is investing more than Dm in sorting and processing machinery Nick Wells, TNT Post UK chief executive, says: "We are dedicated to continued growth and strength of service offering, which can only be realised by a fully liberated postal market."
Last month TNT Post announced that it had retained its contract with Buying Solutions public sector procurement specialists for a further four years TNT Post says it carries hundreds of millions of items every year for its public sector clients.
