Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THREE MEN HAVE been jailed for a total of 10 years for their part in attempting to hijack a truck and its load in Middlesex last year.

Gwynn McCormack. 31, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to five years; Luke Bentley-Smith, 28, from Basingstoke, to twoand-a-half years; and Stuart Burrows, 32, also from Basingstoke, to two-and-a half years.

Woolwich Crown Court heard how the Metropolitan police Central Task Force mounted a surveillance operation on the gang last August after receiving a tip-off about the hijack plan.

On 27 October 2003 a truck containing a load of computer equipment left a warehouse in Hounslow closely followed by a blue MondeĀ° driven by McCormack who was accompanied by another man.

The car was behind the truck when it pulled into a petrol station on the A4. Officers arrested McCormack and his passenger. They found them in possession of a revolver, ammunition and a set of number plates.

Burrows and Bentley-Smith were later arrested in Heston where they had parked another truck believed to have been intended for use in the robbery.

Two other people involved in the plot, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, will he sentenced at a later date.
