TRANSPORT Minister William Rodgers has met tiConfederation of British Road Passenger Transport (CF general purposes committee for discussions on the Europe; drivers' hours regulations.
The committee was in no doubt, after the meeting, that Mr Rodgers appreciated the disastrous effects the regulations will have on the British bus and coach industries and that endeavours to find workable solution were hit on the Government's list priorities.
It is thought, however, th. political consideration, qui unrelated to transport, w play a major part in the fin agreement. Other memb( States regard Britain ,as ti difficult partner and are relu, tant to make concessior unless Britain offer something in return.
