Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TRANSPORT Minister William Rodgers has met tiConfederation of British Road Passenger Transport (CF general purposes committee for discussions on the Europe; drivers' hours regulations.

The committee was in no doubt, after the meeting, that Mr Rodgers appreciated the disastrous effects the regulations will have on the British bus and coach industries and that endeavours to find workable solution were hit on the Government's list priorities.

It is thought, however, th. political consideration, qui unrelated to transport, w play a major part in the fin agreement. Other memb( States regard Britain ,as ti difficult partner and are relu, tant to make concessior unless Britain offer something in return.

The CPT is urging tIN everything possible be done t find a 'swop' -for relaxation ( the hours regulation.

Negotiations currently tat ing place are for a gradw phasing-in of the EEC reguh tions from January 1, 197: The negotiations cannot b concluded before Octobe which will leave only tw months in which to act befor regulations come into force.
