• Daf is holding talks with Navistar, the American manufacturer, formerly known as International Harvester.
"Daf is sound and financially healthy, nevertheless we will look for opportunities that joint ventures can bring," says Daf headquarters in Eindhoven.
Using Navistar engines, including types developed to meet US emission regulations, could offer Oaf a new way in to the American market, and would provide Navistar with a European outlet (CM 23-29 November).
