• Chairman of the Road I laulage Association's Tanker Functional Group for the next Iwo years is John Hendry. lie and two vice-chairmen were elected at the group's recent annual meeting.
Hendry has been general manager of the tanker division of Sutton and Son (St Helens) for the past three-and-a-half years. Before that he was managing director of Smith and Robinson of Leeds.
New vice-chairman are Richard Elviss and Alastair Elder. Elviss is managing director of Buckley Tankers of Warrington; Elder is operations and commercial manager of Wincanton Transport.
One of Hendry's early tasks in his new post will be to preside over Tankcon, the RHA Tanker Convention and Exhibition which takes place at Blackpool (June 15-20).
