TECHNICAL requirements for roof strength of coaches are being finalised and will be discussed in June in the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe according to Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Kenneth Clarke.
He hopes that other coun tries will be persuaded to adopt the requirements on an international basis.
The proposals for seat strength will be discussed at the same time, and he hopes that by the end of May formal consultations will have started on new braking requirements.
