Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A Saloon Vehicle which is Equipped so that it Can be Used for Two Forms of Passenger Service.

AN illustration which we reproduce on this nage is of a Gilford saloon bus recently supplied to 11Tessrs. Orange Bros., of Bedlington, through C. H. Mason and Co., Ltd., the representatives in the northern -counties for the Gifford Motor Co., Ltd., Gifford Works, Hollowak' Road, London, Ng. The chassis is the maker's 15-ft. wheelbase model, rated at 36-60 h.p., and the well-equipped body which is mounted on it is the product of Messrs. Strachan and Brown, Wales Farm Road, London, W.3. It is built to seat 20 passengers, and the seats are of the semi-bucket type and upholstered in leather. The seats in the rear part of the body are arranged in horseshoe fashion, so that when the vehicle is used for private touring space is available for installing a table or for carryjng luggage.

The interior of the vehicle is pleasingly appointed. The underside of the roof is covered with three-ply and decorated in lincrusta, and mahogany mouldings and ornamental frieze panels are used. Particular attention has been paid to the equipment of the interior, and foot-rests, ash-trays, mirrors, curtains to the windows and a clock all contribute to the general atmosphere of comfort and refinement.

A full-length two-piece door is provided for passengers' use at the front on the near side, and this is operated from the driver's seat by special Strachan and Brown gear. The emergency door is also on the near side, just behind the rear wheel. The body has a shaped hack and a large oval light is incorporated, whilst the side panels are built quite low. The side windows are the Strachan and Brown drop type, and when they are closed ventilation of the interior is attended to by an Airvac ventilator of the type which incorporates an electric light in its design.

We are told that the purchasers of the vehicle intend to use it for regular service work as well as for touring, and ordinary bus passengers will reap the benefit, for much of the equipment is seldom to be found on vehicles subject to the rough-and-tumble of everyday use on schedule service.
