Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ABUS shelter measuring 9 ft. long, 4 ft. 6 in. wide and 6 ft. 8 in. high, and costing about £60, has been developed

• by the Unit 'Concrete Co., Ltd., Burnfield Road, Giffnock, Renfrewshire. The design is based on the Henderson system of construction, in which steel rods are employed f or the basic foundation.

These rods are placed at I-ft. 6-in, centres and threaded over them are precast .concrete blocks, the entire „structure being tensioned to give a solid and exceptionally strong shelter. It has a fiat, weathered roof, with a 2-in. by 2-in. by 1-in. angle tie post tensioned in a horizontal plane. All the sides are glazed at eye level, and the entrances, of which there are two, are 2 ft, wide.

Twelve people can stand in a shelter of the dimensions given, but larger sizes can be . supplied at an additional cost of about 45 per additional 3 ft. in length.

The first shelter of this type is being erected at Giffnock. An important feature is that such shelters can be maintained at virtually no cost over a period of years.
