MR. W. J. MORRIS is the new Scottish Area secretary of the Passenger Vehicle Operators' Association.
MR. W. G. PAvirr, a director of Brown Bros., Ltd., is retiring after 56 years' service with the company.
MR. ROWLAND S. BOSHELL has been appointed assistant general manager of Charles H. Roe, Ltd. He has been with the company for over 22 years.
MR. JOE. PEASE, technical sales manager of Guy Motors, Ltd., is to retire at 61 and will shortly be leaving the company to live in Cornwall.
• MR. D. G. LANDER, at present assistant engineer of the parcels service of the South Eastern Division of the Road Haulage Executive, is to become transport officer of Croydon Corporation on October I.
M. H. F. BOND, supervisor of the Plymouth installation of the Esso Petroleum Co., Ltd., has become assistant manager of the Ellesmere Port ocean .installation. He is succeeded at Plymouth by M. S. J. MARTIN.
MR. J. M. A. SMITH and MR. C. THACKER have been appointed assistant managing directors of the Ford Motor Co., Ltd. Mr, Smith will be responsible for sales, finance, administration and public relations, and Mr. Thacker for supply. production, services and industrial relations.
LORD LEATHERS, Secretary of State for the Co-ordination of Transport, Fuel and Power, has resigned. LORD WOOLTON has succeeded SIR .ARTHUR SALTER as Minister of Materials. MR. D. HEATHCOAT AMORY has been appointed Minister of State, Board of Trade, to give special attention to exports.
MR. ROLAND E. DANGERPIELD, chairman and managing director of Temple Press Ltd., has been elected Master of the Worshipful Company of Coach Makers and Coach Harness Makers. The Senior Warden is MR. W. J. CONNOLLY, the Renter Warden Gr. CAPT. F. C. V. LAWS, and the Junior Warden COL. REGINALD R1PPON.
MR. G. BOURNE, north regional sales manager of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., is to retire after over 50 years' service. He will be succeeded by MR. A. Nr.surrr, at present Newcastle district manager, who will in turn be replaced by MR. C. A. Tuompson, Manchester district deputy manager. Mr. Thompson's post will be taken over by MR. C. H. TREwrn, transport service supervisor at Leeds, a position now assumed by MR. D. F. FARLEY.

MR. R. BLADES, sales director of Scammell Lorries, Ltd., recently flew to Bombay by B.O.A.C.
MR, H. E. McNAIR and MR. G. N. WATSON have been appointed directors of Turner and Co. (Glasgow), Ltd.
MR. S. PORTER, secretary and general manager of E. W. Jackson and Son, Ltd., Doncaster, has been made a director of the company.
MR. S. W. KALLEND has resigned from the board of Briggs Motor Bodies, Ltd. He will also cease to be financial executive and secretary of the company.
MR. G. L. WILLIMONT has resigned his directorship of Marshalls (Cambridge), Ltd., to become general manager of Sam Robbins, Ltd., Coventry.
MR. J. D. YANDLE has been appointed transport manager of the London Brick Co., Ltd., in succession to the late MR. F. J. 0. CLUTTERBUCK. He was formerly with the Road Haulage Executive.
