Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

1 WRITE TO express my distaste at your recent profile of SMS (CM 20 September).

I find parts of the article rather distasteful and cannot believe you as a publication appear to concur with the exploitation of Eastern Europeans.

Some of the comments quoted as by Eric Reimann of SMS I personally find offensive, and I am sure many in the industry will also do so.Take the quote:If we don't take on the Eastern Europeans now, they'll take us on and win."

Win what? Are we at war?

The impression I take from parts of this article is that SMS is actively and outwardly boastful that it is exploiting Polish workers, and ye does not trust them as "many of the firm's drivers are Polish, but only UK drivers are used on the pharmaceutical and more sensitive areas of operations".

And your writer reports: "However, he's keen not to rush into that market headlong. General grief in Russia and harassment from Romanian gypsies make those areas particularly unappealing."

I wonder what SMS's views and your publication's views are of Germans? Italians? French? What about Hungarians?

Surely for a company which has quoted "95% of its journeys cross an international border", these comments are extremely stupid and offensive. As a member of the British-Romanian Chamber of Commerce! will be making the chamber aware of this article.
