A new addition to the range of equipment made by S. Smith and Sons (Motor Accessories), Ltd., Cricklewood Works, London, N.W.2, is the Scriptor chart recorder. This instrument gives a visible indication of speed, time and distance, at the same time making a record on a paper chart. Thus, the driver can see at a glance his speed at any moment: I he total mileage he has covered and the time, whilst the speed is charted against the time of day during the journey being made. The number of miles travelled is also recorded and the number of stops and their duration arc shown in graphical form.
The company will be exhibiting this new device at Olympia.
