IN our issue dated August. 30th we were able to give exclusive details and illustrations of the special Guy chassis built for the Evening Standard Co., Ltd., by Guy Motors, Ltd., this chassis being constructed to a specification drawn up by Mr. T. D. Botterill, M.I.E.C., the garage manager of the company.

We axe now able to illustrate the first complete van, the body. aof which has been built by the North Loudon Engineering Co., Ltd., Cobbold Road, Willesden, London, NW.

The chief characteristic of this body is the roller-shutter " door " which takes the place of the ordinary rear. dotible doors, as the latter have, in the past, caused a lot cif trouble. The shutter operates vertically—in other words, it must be lifted to open.

Placed diagonally across the roof is

board, so fitted as easily to be exchanged for others, and above the cab is a Solofiex sign showing the . wOrds " Evening Standard." IncidentallY, it was on this fleet that this type of sign was first used, and for a time exclusively.

The body is kept low and the front is built in the same manner as a taxicab, there being a single seat for the driver and a . space for the boy who hands out the papers.
