Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A T the forthcoming Motor Cycle it Show at Olympia a newcomer to the ranks of thOse motorcycle manufacturers marketing a commercial model will be found in the Bowden box caryier, which has recently been introduced by the. Bowden Brake CO., Ltd., Tyseley, Birmingham. The new machine appears at an opportune time, and tradesmen and others visiting the Commercial Vehicle Exhibition in November will also have an opportunity for examining its features.

The general design of the carrier can be seen from the accompanying illustration. It is built to carry 5-cwt. loads, exclusive of driver, arid its

• motive power is provided by a twostroke Villiers engine of 350 c.c. The Sturmey-Archer three-speed gear lorrins part of the design, and a kickstarter is provided. The engine power is conveyed to the driving wheel by an open chain. The chassis of the carrier is built up of tubular members, but the engine frame is a malleable casting. The brake on the back wheel is operated by pedal, whilst the frontwheel brakes, which are compensated, are controlled by hand. Dunlop low. pressure tyres of 27-in. by 4-in. dimeasious are fitted to all wheels. The standard body of the carrier is substantially built and has a capacity of 33 cub. ft., although bodies of larger size can be supplied. The wheelbase of the carrier ii 4 ft. 10 ins, and its track 4 ft., the overall dimensions being as follow : length, 8 ft. 5 ins. ; width, 4 ft. 8 ins. ; height, 4 ft. 4 ins.

The carrier should certainly receive much notice, particularly as it is to be retailed at a figure of 189 10s. It is only taxed at £4 per annum, and on this score, coupled with that of low fuel consumption—it will run 50 miles to the gallon of iaiel consumed—should prove an attractive proposition.
