/TINE of the most recent prodticts of L./John Fowler and Co. (Leeds), Ltd., of Leeds, and 113, Cannon Street, London, E.C.4, is a 5-6-ton trailer on pneu matic tyres. It is designed for being hauled behind high-speed petrol or steam vehicles, and the leading dimensions are as follow :—Length of body, 13 ft.; width of body, 6 ft, 6 ins.; ading height, 3 ft. 10 ins. ; length of drawbar, 4 ft.; the steel disc wheels carry 36-in, by pneumatic tyres. The wheels are of the eight-stud 'type and can, of course, be interchanged with those on the vehicle if the dimensions of the tyres be suitable.

Rolled-steel sections are employed for the frame, and these are braced by cross

members of the same material. An important feature is that the cross-members extend the full width of the plat form.

Channel-section members are employed to form the frame of the fore-carriage, which is equipped with a special spring to act as a shock absorber at the point of connection between the fore-carriage and the sub-frame of the trailer.

Semi-elliptic springs are used . all round, and these are secured to the square-section axles by bolts in the conventional manner. The hubs run on ball and roller hearings.

Operation of the internal-expanding brakes in the rear-wheel drums is by means of a wire rope connected to suitable linkage on the towing vehicle; in addition, there is a parking lever operating horizontally in a ratchet carried below the near side of the platform?'

The dravvbir, which is liberally gussetteel, has a solid connecting eye operating through a volute spring to take up starting shocks. Any type of body can be fitted to this trailer,
