alleged false records brought against JF Alford Transport, its director, transport manager and 29 of the company's drivers will be heard at Southampton Crown Court at the end of the month. At a committal hearing at Southampton magistrates, the court decided that the case concerning the Nursling-based container haulier should begin at the Crown Court on 31 May The company, its director James Alford, and its transport manager Peter Payne have all been charged on 56 counts concerning aiding and abetting drivers to make false records. The 29 drivers have been charged with more than 100 counts of making false records.
