Evans aid that the people who wished to fly 3 the Continent or the Channel Islands /anted direct transport to the airport, ather than have to travel to the London 2rmini of rail or coach services and hen make their way to the airport.

It was proposed to use two coaches, :.aving Sheffield on Thursday and 'riday nights and arriving at the airort early the next morning.

The fare scale would be: Sheffield cairn, £2 2s., single, £1 5s.; Chesterfield etum, £2, single, £1 4s.; Derby return, £1 17s., single, £1 2s.; Leicester return, £1 10s., single, 19s.

Objecting, the Yorkshire Pool Services said they already ran a through service from Sheffield to London, and if a night service was needed they should provide it. If necessary, they could arrange for one of their coaches to go on to the airport from Victoria Coach Station.

They also said that no evidence of need had been offered in the case of the picking-up points, If necessary, the railways would oppose the application before the Metropolitan Licensing Authority to draw attention to the travel facilities from London stations to the airports.
