His brother Paul, of Newcastle-based Imprint, helped on the star logo, and it was this that impressed the judges so much: "The drop shadow really picks it out, the colours are unusual, too, and the silver really makes the star stand out," said one.

The company has used the CM award as a sales aid: "It's another piece of credibility—it shows we're up there with the best," Newton explains. "When the sales staff say we operate a high-image service, this is what we mean. We were very proud and pleased to get it."
