The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency says it is already supplying a hit list of suspect cars and trucks to eight police forces which use the cameras to identify vehicles by their number plates. Within the next four months, it plans to begtn trials of its own automatic number-plate reader systems. lf successful, use of the cameras will be rolled out nationally later this year.
