• Schmitz Cargobull is to be floated on the German Stock Exchange in a new SMAX market segment for medium-sized business.
Schmitz is Germany's leading semi-trailer manufacturer and is the second largest in terms of sales turnover: 65% of its production is exported.
Until last March Schmitz's turnover was up 34% over the previous year at 1338.3m (DM944m). In the first half of the current financial year it was up to .£2891m (DM606.7m) with pre-tax profrts of 117.6m (0M49.2m The March flotation is designed to capitalise Schmitz's continuing expansion.
