BUXTED POULTRY is the latest contender in the chilled and frozen foods delivery market. It has established Buxted Distribution Service to provide storage and distribution on the open market.
It has 130 lorries and 60 trailers available for trunk and retail deliveries from regional centres in Edinburgh, Manchester, Newark, Avonmouth, Luton, and Dunton Green (Kent). In total, there are 3m cuft of storage space designed to keep products at —18 degrees C or colder.
The company has some 20 years' experience of its own delivery work to multiple grocery and independent outlets, and is boasting the advantages to be gained from using its compute r 1 se d stock and location systems.
It already has six months' experience of handling New Zealand lamb distribution, and believes that at least three other large companies will take advantage of its ability to deliver anywhere in Britain within 48 hours of the order first being placed.
