LUCAS SERVICE UK has introduced an electrically operated crane specifically for lightweight pick-ups, dropside and flat-bed commercial vehicles.

Called the Foldaway, the crane joins the existing Swinglifi model capable of fitting tc Transit, Sherpa and Bedford CF The Foldaway can be easily operated by one man. It ha; been developed as a result of tht latest Health and Safety recom. mendations calling for 15.2 kc (351b) lifting limits per man.

The crane has an overload cut. out and automatic brake mech. anism. Designed for either flooi or pillar mounting, it can be re. moved to maximise payloac area.

In standard form the Foldaway can reach 1 574mm(61in) tc 1778mm(70in) above the base When not in use it can be collapsed to 762mm(30in) high with the lifting boom sliding bad telescopically frorr 1574mm(62in) to 1066mm(42in).

With remote control and self. lubricating bearings, the Folda. way is capable of lifting loads ur to 726kg(16001b), running off z 12or 24-volt vehicle supply.
