Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

limits' PUBLIC service vehicles speed limits should be increased from 50mph to 60mph on dual-carriageway roads. That is what the Confederation of British Road Passenger Transport (CPT) has just told the Transport Department.

Director-general Denis Quin said: "Higher speeds for psvs on dual-carriageway roads would lead to better economic performance, the advantages of which would outweigh any fuel savings that may be secured by maintaining the present limits."

If psv speed limits on dual-carriageways were raised then traffic flow would be more orderly with less need for overtaking, said Mr Quin. This would be beneficial to both safety and general fuel consumption.

In general, speed limits should bear a closer relation to the actual road they cover, said the CPT. On the sections of the Al built to near motorway standards, motorway speed limits could apply.
