SIGNWRITING is carried even on the roof of this removal pantechnicon which Butlens Organisation Ltd. has taken into service, The vehicle is based on a Bedford VAS coach chassis and is of 1,250 Cu. ft. capacity. To keep weight down, an aluminium floor is used.
The body, built by Trident Coach, builders Ltd.. of Hanworth, has been designed specifically for the congested areas of London, notably on office removals. As well as being compact, It offers quick 'roll-on/roll-off" unloading by having a full-depth rear roller shutter (replacing doors and tailboard) and a ramp to facilitate use of sack barrow and trolleys.
The five-man crew cab has sliding doors and twin heaters.
