Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I found the recent articles on Pickfords and Econofreight in your issue of 21-27 July quite interesting.

As a matter of interest, came across the Pickfords Scarnmell Contractor and running gear on the A66 as it was returning to its base in Glasgow after completing the move described in your article.

With respect, however, I cannot agree that the Directory published in the same issue is a 'comprehensive" listing of heavy haulage operators throughout the UK.

From time to time, I have photographed heavy haulage units of the following firms who are not included in your list: Abnormal Load Engineering, Stafford Ainscough Heavy Haulage, Standish, Lancashire Colletts Heavy Haulage, Halifax Gateway Plant, Aberdeen Lawsons Heavy Haulage, Cockermouth, Cumbria T Marler & Sons, Stalybridge, Cheshire Ruttle Plant Hire, Chorley, Lancashire Parnaby Cyclones, Spennymoor, County Durham D Teasdale, Bantry A F Budge, Retford J Somerscales & Son, Keelby, Lincolnshire Trendale Heavy Haulage, Cornwall These are firms that spring readily to mind. There must be others.

Denis Tomlin,

Longton, Preston.

We thank our hawk-eyed reader for additions to our list which we will endeavour to make as far-ranging as possible in its next edition. Ed.
